After the extensive work we did with with the Carlino’s brand the team was looking to boost online sales by focusing on the product assortment. Carlino’s wanted to create a cohesive gift basket collection that represented their updated branding, giving customers the Carlino’s experience beyond in-store. We created a collection of 8 signature gift baskets ranging in price point and styles from the classic and traditional to more adventurous and complex.

The goal was simple – no junk. Only deliciously awesome, artisan products that you will immediately want to open up and enjoy not stick in the back of your pantry where unwanted items go to die. Each product was chosen with the overall experience in mind, to create pairings whose flavors and textures work together.

The overall aesthetic of the gift baskets were a combination of old and new, informal and formal, polished and rustic, just like the Carlino’s brand. Everything has a sense of purpose, including the reusable wooden boxes, wire baskets and colanders for the home or kitchen. Added touches of recyclable kraft spring fill, satin ribbon and cotton twill pull the items together along with a Carlino’s tag that is hand stamped and signed by the basket maker.

Mopeen_Collage

Each basket includes a “Mopeen”, which is Italian slang for dishtowel. Just like your Nonnie and our Nonnie would have used. The mopeen wasn’t just for drying dishes but also used to wrap rising bread, dry homemade pasta or strain homemade ricotta. Our signature red and white mopeen is a tribute to our family and legacy but also a way of life. Just a little something to make the Carlino’s gift basket extra special and unique.
